Recently,
Wirerite were approached by a domestic fire sprinkler equipment supplier to look
at the possibility of integrating several pieces of sprinkler equipment into one
functional yet aesthetically pleasing design. Traditionally a
riser manifold, priority demand valve, control box, sounder, strobe and back-up
battery were all fitted as separate units. As such the commercial casing
was bulky and not particularly visually appealing to the relatively new domestic
market. Wirerite were
required to make a prototype of a compact unit that could effectively house
all these components without compromising practicality and safety requirements.
We also needed to take into consideration access for fitting and testing of the unit. The unit was
pre-wired and tested with 'Plug & Play' sockets to allow quick and easy on
site installation. Working closely
with its client a prototype was made to allow for experts in the fire sprinkler
area to assess its progress and for testing to be carried out. A final version is now ready for
